Identify the borders of the hypothalamus in the medial view of the brain. Note the medial border of the hypothalamus in the coronal sections. Note that the mammillary bodies are part of the hypothalamus.
In addition to its connections with the pituitary gland, the hypothalamus is also connected extensively with the limbic system. These connections will be covered in detail in the laboratory on hypothalamic and limbic structures.
