The diagram shows the external landmarks of the spinal cord at low thoracic levels. Locate the following longitudinal fissures and sulci, which divide the spinal cord: anterior median fissure, posterior median sulcus, posterolateral sulcus, posterior intermediate sulcus, and anterolateral sulcus. Note that the posterior intermediate sulcus is present only above level T6.
